VIRTUAL COMMAND POST

General Reality Company has completed requirements analysis and system design of an immersive conferencing system which can operate over communication channels limited to as little as 4800bps bandwidth. The Virtual Command Post System incorporates advances in data abstraction to deliver rich distributed virtual reality environments including real-time communication of voice, facial expressions, hand gestures, and shared application data. The system incorporates Windows applications projected as videowalls within each user's virtual conference room, and integrates a 3D interactive battle model for collaborative battle planning and management. User control is provided through a unique glove/pen tablet combination.

DISMOUNTED INFANTRY VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT

General Reality Company teamed with DIVE Laboratories to successfully win and complete an Army STRICOM Phase I SBIR project for development of an extreme-performance unencumbered dismounted infantry simulator. The DIVE system incorporates a novel wide field-of-view, high-resolution HMD approach developed for the effort by General Reality.

AUTOMATED SITE MODEL GENERATION

General Reality worked on a Phase I effort sponsored by the US Marine Corps aimed at developing technology to automatically convert video imagery of a scene into 3D models suitable for dismounted infantry simulators. The outcome of this effort is major advances in 3D modeling speed, accuracy, and realism, for applications ranging from architecture to online virtual travel.
